Looking for the following families: Law, Burnside, Sommerville, Kenny, Moneypenny.
They all immigrated and ended up in Harrison Co VA (now WV) at about the same time (1797-1800).
William Law was born abt 1770 in Northern Ireland. (I believe County Fermanagh.)
He sailed with his 3 brothers: Thomas, Francis and John, and their parents (mother died at sea)
All these names were together in Maquires Bridge as Flax growers in 1796.
They all were Methodists and were seeking freedom from religious persecution.
William Law is my 4th great grandfather. He married Mary Burnside, who was also born in Ireland.
My great grandfather Lewis A Law married Sarah Adaline Sommerville.
These families lived closely in Ireland and America for at least 150 years.
