Can anyone help me locate any further information on William BANNERMAN who was born in Sutherland, Scotland and moved to Dublin. He was born 13 August 1863 son of John and Johan Bannerman. William Bannerman left Rogart for Dublin where he worked for the Great Northern Railway (Ireland). I have corresponded with their archivist who has supplied the following information - "A staff record card for W Bannerman, grade Passenger Agent [i.e. Stationmaster] at 'Dublin' [this would be the main GNR station at Amiens Street]. His rate of wages per annum for an undated year before 1/1/1914 was £160 + £35 for superannuation purposes. The next entry, for 1/1/1914, shows £170 per annum + £40 house allowance and the last entry on 1/1/1919, shows £195 + £50. Ten pence per month was also deducted for 'RSPU' which presumably was a Union contribution. The last item on the card is that he resigned on 30/9/1926." His mother died in Scotland in 1906. Her son, William who was at that time living at 39 Seville Place, Dublin, signed the death certificate. When his father died also in Scotland in 1919, William signed this death certificate also. He was then living at 1 Cecilia Terrace, Charlemount Road, Clontarf, Dublin.
I would love to find out more about William - can anyone help?
