Hello,
I know you posted this a long time ago. But I'm hoping that you can still reply to this.

I believe I may be descended from Maria and James. However, I don't know what my Maria's maiden name was so this may not be the same Maria. Though, from the information in your post, it looks like its the same one.

This is what I do know... Maria Levy ? was born in Cork, Ireland in 1816 and married James Huison Rudd who was born in Booton, Norfolk in 1806. I don't know where or when they married. In the 1841 census they are in St Faith's Union workhouse in Horsham. The same year the census was done, James died in the same workhouse. He left behind his wife Maria, and their 3 children Clarissa (b.1832), William (b.1834) and John (b.1840). All 3 children were born in Booton.

Five years later, Maria gave birth to an illigetimate daughter, Ellen (b.1846), and named her dead husband James as the father (though it was impossible for James to be the father as he had died 5 years earlier).

Maria then became a housekeeper for Robert Ewing Dack (b.1827) who was born in Sherringham, Norfolk, England. Robert and Maria eventually married in 1863 in South Shields, Durham, England.

Maria and James' daughter, Clarissa, had an illigetimate daughter, Mary Ann Andrews Rudd. Mary was born in 1857 in Yarmouth, Norfolk, England. I don't know who her father was. Mary married Henry Foreman who was born in 1853 in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England. They married in 1873 in South Shields, Durham, England. They had 14 children.

I am descended from Mary and Henry's son, Benjamin (b.1883).

Please reply if you can. You may be able to be a huge help.
