Hello Kitty & Co., 15/June/2008
I refer to your message of 08/Mar/2008.
I'm not sure whether I'm the Michael O'Shea to whom you're referring but I am one of the many many of that name.
Yes, Glengarriff Churcyard is right in the middle of the village, and I have relatives buried all over it.
Some other families on the Bantry side of Glengarriff have plots in Kilmacomogue Cemetery in Kealkil off the road between Glengarriff and Bantry.
There's also a graveyard in Adrigole just five/six miles away from Glengariff, and there are probably others around that general area too.
Other areas near Glengarriff are 'The Glen' and Comerkane. Those areas and Adrigole are solid O'Sullivan country. Probably over 50% of the households are O'Sullivan ones.
What is your quest?
If it's to identify a particular O'Sullivan or O'Shea family, then we'd need something else in terms of the name of the townland from whence they came or/and other surnames to which they're related, or/and better still, the more familiar family nickname by which they were known.
Please advise.
Lots of good luck with it all.
Regards, Michael O'Shea, London.
