I realize I am reaching for straws here, but just maybe you could have something that will help. I am looking for the parents of the Martha Kyle who married Charles Criswell in 1846. He was born in South Carolina. Do you have any birth dates for Margaret and James' children? Another "straw" is that Charles and Martha named a son James Monroe-- after your James M., an uncle?
