Rachel has pointed out that the 1861 census has the 1 year old Thomas PASHBY transcribed in Ancestry as Son in Law and suggests that it does actually read Son to Anne.

That's what I transcribed it as. Just shows that one should always look at the original where possible and don't trust that some other person read it or typed it correctly.
