Hi Colette - thanks, you have helped narrow down the possible dates. He was there in 1947 as my mother remembers visiting around this time, so he must have began his term somewhere after 38 and before 47.

I live in Devon - so not as desperate as I would be if I lived, say, New Zealand, but if your cousin happens to be passing I wouldn't refuse!

According to the marriage cert Patrick & Mary lived in 91 Delamore Street at the time.....?
