I am descended from Thomas Robinson, the son of Amos Robinson and Mary Ann Pontin. He left England when he was 18 and went first to Newfoundland, where he was educated by a missionary and then he went on to become a professor and engineer. He left a nice biography of his life, but not so much about his family in England. Thank you both for the post--it was very helpful!
