I would just like to say that his marriage index is in Edmonton, however there is an actual marriage record on 21 July 1845 Chestnut, Hertford, where there son Edward was subsequently christened that year. It states his birth date as 1817, and his father as Ernle Drake. Perhaps the name was Ernie? It's on FamilySearch, so if you have an LDS centre near you, you might be able to see the actual marriage on microfilm, or at their place in the National Archives in Kew. Have you got the marriage already? You can always order it from GRO, I think it's £9.00 something. It might state the father's occupation.

There is a Henry Drake born 1820 Bath to Samuel and Martha, the father a tailor, residence Bath Street. Children weren't necessarily christened the year they were born. Perhaps he was known as Ernle? Maybe Ernle was not born in England? He seems a little bit like my ancestor- a merchant seaman who doesn't seem to have a christening/baptism!

Hope this can help in some way.
