Thank you so much for the info and for giving me a new idea for researching. I hadn't thought about looking at neighbours on census returns.

I was able to work out the year of birth for Sarah Ann Fox from her record of marriage as about 1852.

I studied the 1851 census more carefully to see who were her mother Harriet's neighbours. I was a bit doubtful about Sarah's father being Thomas Beckinsale 1831 as he was ten years younger than Harriet Fox.

From searching the PR Bap. Records for Bampton I had found a record for Thomas Beckinsale bap 1822. Parents: Thomas and Sara.

I searched for a 1851 Census record for him and guess what I found? Living at house number 118, just a few doors from Harriet, was Thomas Stensole b. abt 1823. His mother was Sara. I feel pretty sure Stensole should be Beckinsale. What do you think?

Kind regards

Maureen
