Hello,

Rev Henry and Elizabeth Bobart also had a son, Henry Charles Bobart, who died age 39. His wife died in 1876 of pneumonia aged only 30, having already lost 2 daughters as infants, and Henry was deeply depressed, finally committing suicide in 1879. He left one young son, my great grandfather, to be raised by relatives. I'm not sure who those relatives were, as his mother Mary Tierney was the grand daughter of a convict who settled in the Maitland area, and the Tierney descendants have also contacted me to enquire about our line as they knew nothing of Mary and Henry's marriage or their descendants.

I've attached a link to an online newspaper report of the inquest into his suicide, which mentions his Cooper and Marsden relations. I can only assume that the sad circumstances of this story are the reason you didn't know about Henry.

I'd be happy to send you any other info about the Bobart family and am also very interested in any info you have on the Cooper family as I have only found the references in these articles.

If this link doesn't work just type Henry Bobart suicide into the search engine at the nla.gov.au website

Thanks for being in contact and I look forward to hearing more.

Cheers
Michelle
