Thankyou for the message. I have been trying to put together a full family tree to identify potential Mary Midworths. Alice Midworth was born in Hanley St, Nottingham in 1896. Her mother is named as Mary Midworth. There is no occupation given and no father on the birth certificate. By the 1901 Census Alice was living with the Pickett family in Sibsey Lincolnshire as a boarder(her surname is given as Medworth but this is a mistake by the enumerator). We know from Alice herself that she does not believe she ever met her mother after this. She was later moved from this house to another family who unoffically adopted her. Alice later moved to Leicestershire where she met and married my great grandfather, Edgar Boyles. I have put all the information I have collated on the Midworth family on the internet at www.anla51.ukgateway.net. I would be grateful for any information you could supply on the family tree as I have had contacts from several people who are related to this family and are desparately seeking their links - I have had contacts from South Africa, Canada and Austrailia and they would all appreciate more information.
