I am seeking information on Alfred MARLAND born 1837 in Ashton-Under-Lyne, son of George Marland and Elizabeth Ann WHITWORTH. Alfred was said to have fought in the Crimean War and I would like to know where to go to find out information on his military service.
Alfred married Sarah MCLEOD believed to be in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was previously married and had several children by her first marriage she came from the Isle of Skye. Elizabeth WHITOWORTH's parents were Ernest WHITWORTH and Charlotte WALKER. Any information would be greatly appreciated especially on where to find the military information.
