One of those marriage records reads:

If you look up Film 1469895 in the LDS Catalog, you find it is described as "Marriage bonds and allegations for the Diocese of York, 1618-1887" Presumably the application for the License therefore includes his age, so you can at least get that straight. Normally I wouldn't trust a "d.o.b. ABT 1746" at all because most of them were created by people guessing someone was 21 when they married. But there is evidence for that one, it seems.
