I was unable to find a James born in 1885.


However, there are two James Metcalfes born 1882 in Preston.


One christened November to James and Ellen - James Edward


The other christened in February to William and Emmeline.- James John


It looks like James married Ellen Friars 29 April 1882 and his estimated birth is 1860, father Thomas. Ellen's father James.
