I wrote to Hampshire Records Office back in Dec 2005 and received a reply in Jan 2006 along with an actual photo copy of Alfred's Slade's Baptsim and looking at others on the page, there is no place for any Godparents/Sponsor to be recorded.

They also found the Marriage of Thomas Slade and Sarah Cooper and sent a photo copy of that too.

Thomas Slade & Sarah Cooper married in the Parish Church of Soberton in the County of Southampton by Banns.
No Father's names entered .
The Witnesses were William Gulliver and Rhoda Richards.

There are a few other Coopers living in Soberton in 1841, but I have no idea if they are related.

1841 Census Soberton, Hampshire.
Thomas is aged 30, Sarah is aged 40.
Children:
Richard 9,
Eliza 7,
Alfred 5,
Joseph 5 weeks,
and Emma 3.

I know Thomas Slade was born 1806 in East Lulworth, Dorset so was Sarah born c.1796 as she's is recorded as being 10 years older than Thomas on the 1841 Census?

Sarah has died by 1851 Census and Thomas Slade has remarried in Bristol Jan 1849 and is living in Bristol with his second wife Elizabeth

I cannot find a Death Registration for Sarah's death as I don't even know her approx birth year which is why I was looking for some help to find a Baptism for her.
