I know that Emma's father is James Gardiner from her baptism on 8 Oct 1809 in Redbrook, Newland Parish, Gloucestershire. Her mother is listed only as Sarah. Her surname, James, comes from the baptism of her son Samuel. on 25 Jan 1823.
