Hi Marlene,

Sorry to have to reply via the Ancestry message board, but I'm having problems with my ISP and the ADSL link where I can receive e-mail but can't send any.

In regard to your question about Samuel and Eliza COOPER - no I don't have any details about them, but would like to if you don't mind. I'm connected through the Kearsey family. My 3 x great grandmother was Sarah Kearsey who married William Collett at Ashley, Wiltshire 20 Feb 1806. Her parents were Richard and Judith Kearsey nee Dane of Kings Stanley, Gloucestershire.

I have traced some of the COOPER'S to Bristol, namely William & Sarah A. COOPER who I think might have been Sarah Ann HORSEMAN (?) of Stapleton - not sure about that though. That family ends for me in the 1901 census where Sarah is listed as a widow living at what looks like 16 Mivart Street, St George, Bristol. I have also traced Julia COOPER up to the 1861 census where she appears in the home of Hannah MacKenzie of Woodbine, Hanley Castle, Worcestershire. Here she is working as a parlor maid. After this I can't find her.

Emily COOPER seems to have married William Henry HARRHY and I have them both in the 1901 census, but not in the same household. Emily is mistranscribed, but is living with her daughter Ethel HARRHY at 9 Alstone Place, Cheltenham, also with your great great grandmother, Eliza COOPER and a boarder named Harriet STANTON of Broad Heath, Worcestershire. You most likely have the details anyway.

I can't find Harriet or Harriett COOPER at all after her entry in the 1871 census.

I'm still researching the COOPER family - so any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Have you been in contact with Dr. Hugh Kearsey at all? He has extensive records on the Kearsey family. If not let me know and I'll send you his e-mail address.

I hope to have my e-mail back in order in the next few days - so will be able to correspond to you privately.

With kind regards,

Don Cameron.
