I just received a reply to a post on a U.K. genealogy message board regarding the "brass Choose pan" phrase from the will I'm transcribing.
The person who replied suggested "brass Cheese pan." In looking at the handwriting for the will and comparing what I thought were double "o"s in "Choose" with other letters written by the law clerk, I agree with the person who suggested "brass Cheese pan." What a thought were double "o"s are double "e"s.
Devon is (and was) the land of dairy products. It makes sense. The deceased owned 2 farms.
