My correct family tree I'm researching is labelled Desmond Marks.
Its his grandparents that I am struggling to find - I'm pretty sure I've got the wrong people on there otherwise.... we are looking at an incestuous relationship ( we know there was some sort of scandal but little more information than that from Desmonds 94 year old sister)
On the Census Elizabeth Marks comes up as Daughter of the household ( which would be incorrect as she would've married into the name Marks name?) and then on the next census as a widow with four children in the house including Jabez Henry Marks, at no point can I establish who Jabez's father is? and if his mother is correct on my family tree then... it really was quite a scandal
Any help hugely appreciated because as far as that particular line is concerned I'm finishing it there.
