Hello! I am looking for any pointers on where to start to find my mother. My father was in the Marines and stationed in Iwakuni where he lived with my mother. They got a divorce in 1980 and he took me to the US. I never saw or heard from my mother again. I need to find her but have no idea where to start. I am told a private investigator would start at about $10K and may not be able to find any info. That is out of my league. I have little information about her because I do not speak to my father. I have the divorce decree which has a permanent address of Hiroshima on it. I do not know how to try to obtain a kosecki. I emailed the office that holds them in that prefecture but no response. I am told it is near impossible to get if you are not the person the kosecki directly belongs to. If you have any pointers on how to get information or know of any Nagahamas, please contact me. Her name is Toshiko Nagahama and she would be about 64 years old now.
