Harry, I am looking for my great grandfather. I have no factual data that he was imprisoned at Moundsville, it is more a shot in the dark. I am looking for Virgil Vincent Radcliff born about 1851 in Huntington Ohio. He lived in Strange Creek, Braxton County WV in 1896 then disappeared. The reason I am looking at seeing if he was imprisoned at Moundsville is that the family moved to Moundsville by 1900 and lived there for many years. His wife changed her marital status to Widow, and with no death records found for Virgil Radcliff I am wondering if they moved to be closer to the prison and she called herself a widow to save face. So this is just a hunch I would like to investigate. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks so much.
