Wow! Aren't wills and abstracts an absolute wealth of info?!!

I don't have a subscription to ancestry, but used what I could of their public family trees and found several that have Peggy *and* Catherine Herring LANGMAID listed as daughters of Henry LANGMAID + Elizabeth SORBY ????

I found Henry LANGMAID's marriage to Elizabeth SOBY on Oct 4, 1759 in St Dominick from the OPC database --

I only found 2 baptisms in the OPC database but am awaiting word about more and whether or not anyone can find Peggy or Catherine's in that area.

Supposedly, Henry and Elizabeth had 6 or 7 children, if you include Catherine Herring LANGMAID.

Here's something I found for Henry b 1733 while doing a Google search --

Found my own old post while doing some cyber searching. Update on informaiton I have confirmed on the Geake/Webb/Langmaid families discussed on this thread.

Henry Langmaid & Elizabeth Soby had (at least)7 children
Elizabeth bap 1 Mar 1762 Lansallos. m 1) William Sargeant and 2) Richard Geake (early Wesleyan Methodist in the area).
John bap 25 Oct 1764 Lansallos. Assumed died before 1768
Henry bap 9 Sep 1766 Lansallos
John bap 22 Jul 1768 Lansallos
Peggy bap 29 Mar 1770 Lansallos. m. Thomas Geake (brother of Richard Geake above who married Elizabeth), also an early Wesleyan Methodist. I have a copy of Peggy's will.
Thomas Langmaid bap 13 Jan 1775 Lansallos
Catherine Herring Langmaid bap 14 Sep 1778 Lansallos. m.Edmund Webb (another early Wesleyan Methodist).

I have collated a fair bit of information/data etc on the Langmaid sisters so just ask.

Another update relating to the Geakes and Webbs.
Earlier in this thread I pointed out my frustration that published sources (modern books and FHS publications) were quoting Edmund Webb's parents as Thomas Webb and Catherine Geake. It was driving me bonkers as anyone doing one iota of research could work out that Edmund's mother was Mary Geake and his aunt was Catherine Geake.
It has taken me a while but I have finally just had word that the Australian Dictionary or Biographies is about to amend the information on Edmund Webb so that his mother is correctly identified as MARY GEAKE and Catherine is put back into her rightful place as his aunt.....
And all this published misinformation came about due to the informant's mistake (understandable but nevertheless incorrect) on Edmund's death certificate!

Surnames: GEAKE, WEBB
That's a fantastic development and all future generations tracing the WEBB - GEAKE ancestry will thank you!!

It will save people so much time and hopefully many will look for something trustworthy like that rather than depending on misinformation in various online databases :)

Best Wishes!
