WOW! GOSH! You are someone we have all been looking
for -- "Uncle Jim's" line. We had no idea how to find you.
My husband is Clyde Faries, a son of Ines (Inez) McIntosh,
who married D.O. Faries. D.O. and Ines drove your
James R. and Ida Burkett off to get married. Made Lydda
really angry. Joseph A. McIntosh seems to have been
a deputy US Marshal. He was the son of Thomas
McIntosh, who was in the Civil War for the Union side with
a KY volunteer regiment. He is probably buried at Pittsburgh
Landing somewhere. His wife got a pension. Joseph had a
brother James, a sister Sarah, and a sister Charity.
Ianthis was a twin of Ines, and he died when he was about 6.
We think Lydia's name was really Lydda. Clyde and I
retired from teaching at Western Illinois University and now
live near Bonne Terre, MO. His sister Helen, a daughter of
Ines, lives in Jackson MO. We'd love to hear more from
you or see you. THANKS for writing. And we would LOVE
to have a picture of Lydda (Lydia). We have her files from
the government as well. I would like to prove she really
was eastern Cherokee, just for her sake. Liz Faries
