I a VERY glad I came across this post! My 5th great grandparents are William Mullins and Frances Estes. I have been researching the Mullins family for some time and just today found a tree posted on rootsweb that has a Frankey M. Estes married to William Mullins in Halifax, Virginia. I am wondering if Frankey is the same person as Frances. I am quite confident she is because her father is listed as Bartlett Estes. If this is truly the case than James Bartlett Mullins was named after his maternal grandfather. Makes sense to me. :)

I have seen a few different dates for the births of William and Frances. I have seen William as 1776 and 1785 along with Frances being 1777 and 1792. The above marriage for William and Frankey is 1798, so the earlier dates seem more reasonable. Anyone have an idea of which is correct?

My 4th great grandparents are William Thomas Mullins and Armedia Lassiter. William was the brother (most likely) to James Bartlett Mullins. I know they had a sister Frances, but I don't know of any other siblings.

Any input would be appreciated!

John
