Hello Garner family:
I just learned about Stephen Garner (b. 1793 in NC) in my research of my Miller ancestors. My gggrandmother (Elizabeth Ro Carter b. 1833) was a step-child of Stephen Garner and her mom was Levice Simmons Carter. I think her name is written "Lavissa" on these message boards. Levice Carter was married to a William S. Carter and he must have died before 1838 since she married Mr. Garner then. I wonder if any of you know about the step-children. On the 1850 Covington Co., MS census it lists Stephen Garner, Levice, many children, and the last person listed is "Unity Carter" age 15. Either my gggrandmother had a sister or a different name.

Would like more info on the Garner siblings who were Levice's children.
