My family has been trying to prove our Lee heritage for the last 100 years. My grandmother was born in 1914 and she is still living at age 92. She is fully aware and continues to tell us the same stories she has been telling her children and grandchildren for years. Her mother died in 1972 at age 100 and she passed all the stories to her children who wrote her stories down.
We believe that Phillip Lee, son of Richard and Leatitia Lee is my 6th great-grandfather. His daughter Alice Lee who married (1) Thomas Clarke and (2) Meriwether Smith is where our heritage is from. Thomas Clarke and Alice Lee had a daughter Alice Lee Clarke and my grandmother and all her sisters (1st born in 1890) always said we are through this line. My grandmothers oldest sister took her grandmother, to Arlington House so she could see again where she went to school as a child with her Lee cousins when she visited.
I continue to look for info on Alice Lee, daughter of Phillip Lee? I have search in some libraries but have not had any luck finding any detailed info on the Maryland Lees. I went to where Blenheim once was and saw the gravesites on the factory several months ago.
Is there a gravesite for Phillip Lee?
Any help is appreciated.
