Dear Mr. Skewes,
I have just this week received from england a copy of your book purchased on the internet, you and your helpers are owed a great debt by those who have Skewes ancestry. My Skewes link is from Jane Skewes, daughter of Thomas who died in Gerrans in 1580, who married William Hayne. I have traced the Hayne side through Jennings to Anthony Crewes who came to Cornwall from Morchard in Devon. It is interesting to see how family coming into Cornwall with names like Crywys and Skywys end up as Skewes and Crewes. From what I have managed to decipher from your book I am starting to think that maybe the Gerrans family come out of the Cury family and that Thomas might be Thomas of Cury alive 1524. I also received in the same post Bernard Deacon's book which gives a wonderful insight to life in Cornwall. Thank you again for your magnificent contribution to the Skewes family history. Lefayre.
