There are no listings for Hook in the book.

Have you checked the Lewis M Hook in 1850 & 1860 GA and 1870 AL censuses? Perhaps the M is for Martin?

Sorry I could not be of more help.

Hi again Its amazing I can't get any info on Giles B. Carroll or his parents. He is listed in 1830 Edgefield census, I am his g,g,g,granddaughter. I so want to find out who his parents are. He says he was born in SC and he married Evaline Martin from Edgefield ca 1833. Her brother's estate sale shows that Giles (spelled Jiles then)bought several farm items there in Edgefield. So I know he has been there, but cannot really pinpoint any good genealogical records on him. Do you have any suggestons?

Would appreciatei your answering me at mamiecarroll@aol.com rather than thru ancestry. Thanks for any thoughts you may have.

Do you have anything on a Hughs family? My great grandfather, Willis Hughs was, according to his Civil War burial records, born in Edgefield County about 1820. Also had a brother, James Patrick Hughs born about 1822. The earliest record I can find is 1850 Census for Macon County, Georgia. You may reply to: john_martha@bellsouth.net.
Thanks. John Hughes

Thanks for the information. Could not make a connection but will file among other bits and pieces and maybe they will all come together in time.

I seek info on both a James King and an Elizabeth King, both enumerated as heads-of-households on the Edgefield 1790 census. Am trying to determine if James could be the son of Elizabeth, and where both lived. Thanks for your help. Ed King
