The title of the book is The Kinards of Barnwell District, 1789-1996. The last information I had was to contact Charles Lawrence Bishop, 2472 Bear Den Road, Frederick, MD 21701. I'm not sure if there are books still available.

Yes, there are 23 Stanley surname listings in the index:

Alex, B., B. Frank, Barbara, Benjamin, Bridie, Electa, Eloise (Mrs. James), George, Gooding, H., J., J.A., James, Lloyd, Marian, McCoy, T.G. "Mutt", Peggy, TEE., Tom, Willie, Ola Newsome (Mrs. B.F.).

Varnville has placed a cemetery census on-line at http://www.varnville.org/ as well as the census that appears in their book. The 2 listings on-line are Benjamin Frank b. May 18, 1876 d. Feb 22, 1944 11B3 and Cecelia Ann Stanley b. Dec 9, 1942 d. Mar 10, 1945 18B5.

Hope this helps you Patrick.

Faye,

Thank you! My best friend Mike Stanley is from Varnville, he's a bit older than myself, but remembers the watermelon farm his daddy had there, his daddy's name was Norman. His grandma and grandpa lived and died there as well, Ferdinand (sp) & Gertrude Stanley, both born in the 1890's. I think I will purchase this book and surprise him. Did n't get to make it to the watermelon festival this year, rain was terrible!

Thanks,

Patrick

Do you or anyone know if we can still order this book if it is available? I would like to order it for my best friend for his birthday.

Thanks,

Patrick

Thanks so much for your reply, Alice. I believe your great-great grandfather Aaron J. and my great-great grandmother Mary (b. 1830) were siblings. Would your records include the parents of Aaron J.?

It's been a while since I've looked at this/ I'll look when I get home and email you tomorrow with that info....this is so much fun but gets frustrating when you go a while without any new leads!
