How in the world did you find this info? This is without a doubt my family. I have no proof that Dovie was Cherokee Indian. My dad {Archie Coleman Freeman} always reminded me that I have some Cherokee in me and never forget it and to be proud. He, {my dad} told me that he was Cherokee Indian and Black Dutch. I still don't know what Black Dutch means. My dad and his mother {Dovie} both looked like Indian. Dark skin, eyes,and hair.And so did Hobart,{my uncle}. I never knew my grandfather {Coleman Crowder Freeman},he passed before I was born. Maybe he was Indian? Do you know the race of Moses? {Moses was my Great Grandfather} Someone else on this message board told me that Moses was born in GA. and that he was a Black man. Do you know what race my Great Grandfather was? I can't thank you enough for all this information...One more thing, My grandmother,{Dovie} had at least 2 half brothers and at least 1 half sister. Their names were John Wright, and Joe Wright and half sister Allie Wright.All the info I know for sure about Dovie's Half siblings is that they all lived and died in Tennessee. Maybe it was the Wright side of the Family that was Indian...I just don't know or even how to find out. I knew my Grandmother's Maiden name was Miller, Where doe's the name Beene come from?
