I have been talking with my husband's cousin who has done a lot of research on the Williams and Wests and I need to correct some things that he had sent me earlier and has now changed in his genealogy. We also are very interested in your information and think it could fill in some of our gaps about the children of James and Nancy West Williams and James Williams and his second wife.

The correction I need to make with you is that James Williams, Sr. married Susannah Grisham after Nancy West Williams died. I was given info that James Williams, Jr. had married her, but that is not correct. So the children listed are for James Williams, Sr. and Susannah Grisham and not James Williams, Jr. This also means that James Williams, Jr. could have been married to a Lucy Goodrich and been a doctor as we don't have any info on him here since that correction was made. Another confusing part of this is that when James Williams, Sr. married his second wife, Susannah Grisham, they also had a son they named James Williams. So there are now 3 James Williams in the family--the father and 2 sons by different wives :).

Another thing that we need to look into is the Levisa Williams you mention who was married to James McWhorter. Levisa might have been a child of James Williams, Sr. and his second wife Susannah as we don't have the names of all of the children from this marriage.

Maybe we can piece all of this together and come up with some new information that would help all of us as we all seem to have some different parts of the puzzle.
