I am interested in taking up your offer of help in tracing my family in Wales. My great great grandfather, Charles Henry Davies, his wife, Elizabeth, and their son, David (born 1855) migrated to South Australia from Monmouthshire in 1856. That is all the information I have.

Hi Mike
I wonder if you could help. I am looking for the burial place of Frances Ann Ogden died 23rd April 1859 aged 38,Abercarn, South Wales. She was originally from Suffolk and married John Ogden, from Caernarfon in Bury St Edmunds. I have the report of her death from the Ipswich Journal that gives the date and place of her death. I live in Cardiff so can easily visit but am not sure where to start looking. Do you think she would have been buried in St Tudors, Mynyddislwyn, as that was the parish church at that time?
Her husband stayed in South Wales after her death as I have found him in the 1861 census in Llanarth so I am sure she would have been buried locally.
Any help would be welcome.
Sally Kent

Hello Michael
I live in Australia and have been trying to locate a maternal ancestor ROBERT GARNET VAREY.
He was my mother's great grandfather and we were told he came from Monmouth, and was born c1809.
I've been unable to trace him via ancestry, and familysearch. RGV was a Stonemason and emigrated to Australia and died here in Geelong, Victoria in 1855. My only source for this is my late uncle's research.
Look forward to hearing from you should you be able to find something.
Kind regards
Julie

Hi there

I am seeking information about the Tiver family from Monmouthshire.

My ggg-grandfather Augustus Tiver was born in 1858, Riverton, South Australia, but I have no information at all about his parents.

I'm wondering if his parents might have been James Llewellyn Tiver, born in Gloucestershire and resided in Monmouthshire (died in Burra, South Australia) but I have no way to definitely link the two.

I believe (though am not certain) that my Tiver line does originate in Monmouthshire.

If you could help trace any Tiver line in Monmouthshire and even manage to find out about Augustus Tiver's parents, it would be much appreciated.
