The Franklin County Children's Home (a county institution) was opened at 540 Sunbury Road on March 1, 1888 and closed October 13, 1951. It was demolished in May, 1955. This information accompanies a three photographs of the building (one is attached) on the Columbus Metro Library's "Columbus in Photographs" site http://www.columbuslibrary.org/cmlohio/photohome.cfm 540 Sunbury Road no longer exists (probably part of I-670 now), but was on the "Near East" neighborhood of Columbus.
