Like everyone else, I received an email Friday from Ancestry that they had discovered "new Ancestors". They had two suggestions for me, a husband and wife. This couple has a DNA circle that consists of 10 members, 4 of which I DNA match with as 5-8th cousins. These 4 that I match with all descend from different children of this couple. They cannot be direct ancestors as I have no gaps in the time frame that they would fit in, plus they are recent enough that if they were direct ancestors, the matches would be more like 3-4th cousins rather than 5-8th. Two generations back on the wife's side does have some geographic potential to possibly be related to one of my brick walls. Saturday when I logged into Ancestry I suddenly had two new DNA circles of my own. I was excited until I discovered it was these "new ancestors". They are most definitely not direct ancestors? Has this happened to anyone else?
