I lost 80% of my total matches on Ancestry DNA last week, and 80% of my "leaf" hints as well. 25 leaf hints down to 5! Those leaf hints were the only useful thing about Ancestry's DNA test, since it is lacking in most of the online tools that other DNA sites have. No chromosome charts, no way to see matching segments, and not even chromosome charts for ethnic breakdowns. Whatever algorithim was used to filter the "cluster" segments was flawed. We all have two kinds of DNA in our genome, hot (recombines more often) and cold (recombines less often). The cold DNA is just as useful as the hot in finding relatives. In fact the cold DNA is even more useful in tracing deeper ancestry. They are not "false positives". And just 2 months after already trashing their Y-chromosome and mitochondrial test results (and all the money their faithful customers spent on them), it seems Ancestry is now trashing their autosomal test.
