Hello Nancy
Hope you are missing all the bad weather, snow, storms, floods etc.
Here is some more info:
Capt. Crighton is recorded in the Stephen C Massett collection at the Library of Georgetown Univ. Washington:-
Crighton, Robert( ship & insurance broker, commission merchant & forwarding agent.)ALS to SCM 1/25/1867,(25th Jan 1867,)Invitation to visit him, (note by SCM,) stating that Cighton was the Captain of the Three Bells.
Note: Data is in Box No1, Folder 2 of correspondence C 1867-1898.

Perhaps Robert practised as a ship broker about 1867 etc in Baltimore or the nearest port to Washington?

Do you have any knowledge of a sermon preached in Trinity Church RI on the Wreck of the San Francisco?

Regards........Jim
