Have read with much interest and excitement the messages from all the folks of Czech Houdek descent. My husband's maternal grandmother's name was: Theresa Houdek, born 8 Oct 1895, Strakonice (southwest of Prague), died 17 Nov 1986, Ellsworth, KS. Her parents were Martin Houdek (1853-1943) and Marie Brejcha (1853-1928). Theresa (and I believe she came with her parents) emigrated from Europe about 1913 and the family settled in and around Ellsworth, KS. I'd love to correspond with someone who has more info. I'm continuing to dig.
