My older cousin still lives in Winnipeg. She is a good friend of the lady who was president of the Women'sClub when Rose Fyleman came to Winnipeg. My cousin visits this lady frequently and has known about the origin of the poem for a long time. She passed the information on to me when she found I was so interested in the poem. I was quite excited to hear about it. I had memorized the poem when I was a child in Manitoba and taught it to many Manitoba children in Winnipeg. Next time I am in Winnipeg I intend to go with my cousin to meet Rose's friend.I hope to get a picture of her.
