George E. Baker married Lottie M. Chandler: Their son Charles W. Baker, 30, a Hamburg farmer; married Iris D. Meek, 27, born in Illinois, daughter of lsaiah E. Meek and Sarah Ann Harris; married on September 29, 1899 in Madison township.
I see that the 1870 Federal Census for Madison township, Fremont county, page 5, enumerates Harriet Chandler's husband as George E. Baker. Her son Edward is 4 years old, and her son Charles W. is 3/12 years old.
So, regardless of the obituary (if I typed it correctly, as it were in the newspaper), George's middle initial was probably "E", and not "F".
