I have Ann Matilda McClure Sorrells Hudson dying about 1869. If so, she was only married to James Monroe Hudson for 6 years and all of these children cannot be hers. I had record of the first 5 children on your list but not the rest. Either my death date for Ann Matilda is incorrect or James Monroe Hudson married again.

Have heard that James McClure Sr. was born in SC and probably Cherokee even though the McClure's are listed as Choctaw Indian farmers in 1831 Choctaw Indian census Ms. (maybe both????-Daddy told my mother years ago that there was Indian blood in the family and it was Cherokee but when I was 14-"a million years ago"-I am 56) that there was Indian blood in the family and he mentioned 2 tribes and both began with "ch". Try Paul Sarrett's marriage records for S.C. and I believe I found a Blackwell (name is said to be Cherokee) md. to a McClure. Now this has been quite a while back but I think I might be remembering this correctly. frances

Correcting myself in that it was a mistake that census taker corrected himself and I didn't p/u on it at first-thought it was "white man w/ Ind..."-he scratched that out and Wm. McClure is listed as Indian along with his bros. Kathleen Chadick and Liz Fraure and Ben Bunting verified that this is the same family as ours and that it is correct info.
