It's fascinating how you can know so much, but yet so little about someone. I have family ("McCarty's) from Baggs, Wyoming. Only that was the maternal name. When my great-grandmother moved to Baggs she went by Caroline "Callie" Chick. As far as I can see so far there is no connection. Her brother "Mack" moved to Snake River and she followed behind with her sisters. I just wonder if they were not related from the maternal side of the family.
Her mother's maiden name was Mary Eliza McCarty (Alleghany County, Maryland)
