After reviewing the case, I guess they decided I had suffered enough. They agreed to only charge me the amount I agreed to, and then sent me the research.

The research was mostly just funny. It mostly consisted of them showing me my own research online, and telling me that I had found information. I didn't really understand why they would do this. I chalked the whole thing up to an expensive learning experience.

My research request was regarding a request for any documentation about a father-son relationship of my 3rd great grandfather and his father.
