This is too strange. I have heard many tales of WCQ myself & am trying to get my family tree straight. We have rumors of a descendant of his in the family but the unusual thing here is that person who would be my Great Grandfather married his first cousin & after having two children, his wife left him & married the town Dr...... My mother referred to them as Pa Doc & Granny Stringer! One of the people I am researching in addition to finding out who is the real father of my Great GFather is the Stringer family. This would have been Dr. Oscar E. Stringer, Dr in Achille, OK back in the early 1900s. He may have been married before marrying my Grandmother/cousin but her name was Etta Mae (Thomas) Parton when she married Pa Doc. They had several children who were my Mother's cousins that used to visit us when they came "home" to visit. Thank you for any Stringer info you may wish to share. ps Dr & Etta Stringer are buried in the same local cemetery as most of my immediate family & I probably have pics of the headstones if you need them.
