Merry Christmas Andy! I gave up on the trees years ago because I was spending more time trying to wipe the feces out than I was on my work. I know genealogy is about sharing which I love but almost without fail when I've shared research with someone who has a tree it becomes corrupted when a tree owner uses and shares my research with their own "interpretations" as just happened yesterday. I then had to spend 3 hours back tracking records because despite having discussed it before too many people don't bother to check neighbors, family or changes in boundaries when using censuses or trace land records they're claiming is our ancestor's. Too many people leap at any record and find ways of "claiming" it without bothering to investigate it at all. When did they quit teaching basic research skills? It constantly turns the spirit of sharing into another "battle" to keep it from becoming part of the mess.
