Hello Karen

I have just discovered your enquiry from 2008. There is burial plot for Emma Barrott at Wardsend. it is either Q390 or Q392. Several flood victims were buried in Q section, named and unnamed. Q section is at present overgrown and will not be clear until after the next council clearance of the middle of winter. I can find roughly the spot where you ancestor is buried. Incidently she is also down is being buried in the general Cemetery as well in some lists but we have a definite grave location.

You are correct in saying there is no headstone, they had to be buried quickly to prevent the spread of disease etc presumably. We are holding a tour of the cemetery thsi coming Saturday (10th Sept) starting at 10.30am by the steps.

Contact me if I can be of help.
