Gr. Grandfather was Curtis J. Sowers. Born 1872, in Ohio. Father Albert(?). left Ohio at 19, went to Washington St. I'm looking for anyone related to him. I believe he was the eldest so possible he had younger siblings.

My great, great grandmother was Phoebe Sowers or Phebe Ann Sowers. I believe the family lived somewhere in eastern Ohio. She married George Sigman and they had a daughther Laura Ann Sigman, born July 5, 1878. I am still searching for more information on the Sowers name in Ohio. Will be glad to share information.

If the John G. Sowers/Elizabeth Hedrick Sowers are the people you are researching
he was the son of Johann Phillipus Sauer and Christina Faust of Davidson County N. C.
John Phillip and Cristina had 14 children some of which moved to other parts of the USA.
John George and Elizabeth moved to Indiana and is indeed buried in Harveysburg Cemetery,
one mile west of Kingman. There are two large books on this family at the Davidson County
N.C. If I can be of further help please e-mail. My grandmother came from this family.

Not much is known about my Grandfather's family. In a letter my Grandmother wrote she mentions an Aunt Phoebe. My Grandfather's mother's name was Ruby May Sowers born November 12, 1887 in Norris, IL and died December 31, 1969. I do not know Aunt Phoebe's last name. Ruby's parent's were Emma Baylor and John Sowers. Family photo's are in various parts of the state mentioning Indiana and Illinois another family photo links Cincinnati, Ohio. Hope you can help. My e-mail address is jobearsact@myfamily.com Thank You.

Amanda,

I would love to exchange information with you on this family! I am a descendant of John George (George) and Elizabeth through their son, Solomon; his son, Lindsey (Linsey); his son, Guy and his daughter, Sarah Sowers Holt.

I'm trying to determine if their were 8, 9 or 10 children. The possible names I have are:
Mary Sowers Bracken - b. 1804
Solomon Sowers - b. 1805
Jacob Sowers - b. 1807
Christina Sowers Newnum - b. 1811
Peter Sulovan Sowers - b. 1812
Phebe Sowers Hendricks - b. 1814
Jefferson Sowers - b. 1816
Alfred Sowers - b. 1819
Emaline Sowers Gillum - b. 1821
Alexander Sowers - b. 1823

#4 (Jacob) and #6 (Peter Sulovan) seem to be the two children that differ from one source to another.

Sorry, I don't have any George Sowers or Elizabeth Hedrick that match your dates or place. Have you tried Randy Regan or Richard Cottrell who have much more Sowers and Hedrick information than I have?

Donna, I am gr gr great grand daughter of Jacob Sowers, brother to your John. I have heard that Phillip arrived on
the "Two Brothers" also. Have not found the passenger list
yet either. Will do further research. I still live in Lexington, NC. There are two big volumes on the Sowers at the public library. Most of the information is on the Sowers that stayed around here. Keep in touch.
