Hello Evelyn, im sorry for the delay in replying to your message. Mathilda Saffin was my Grandmother, her daughter, my mum is Olive Wood, nee warren. Mathilda married my Grandfather, Charles Warren. On the 1881 Census Caroline Saffin was married to William Saffin and they were living at Milverton Somerset with children Mary, Hariet, and William. obviously my grandmother wasnt born then. Head of the household, William was listed as being a "railway packer" and was aged 32 at that time. William was born in Wiveliscombe somerset. im a bit puzzled as to why they married in Bristol tho as Caroline was born in Luxborough somerset which on Exmoor, nearer to Devon, and as they were living in south somerset, its puzzling as to why they would have gone to bristol. My mother is still alive being 85 now she has one Brother living too and he will be 90 in August. The rest of the family are now dead. Im afraid i never met my great grandmother, my Mum cant really remember her either. I will try and look out any other information ive got for you and send it via email, my email address is
Sandiemr@hotmail.com. I have a copy from the public record office which shows Caroline as head of the household, aged 49 altho i cant find a date on it.Im afraid i dont know or recognise the name of the lady you mentioned in your message,Louise Holland. this name has not come up in any of my records. i hope this is of some help to you, as i said if youd like me to send you any thing else ive got then please let me know....Best Wishes Sandra
