Thanks to all who have posted to this link - dates would help in trying to relate to the various posts.
In my case I am looking for siblings of Edward Tobin, born Ireland in 1828 and came to the US around 1850-1860 with 4 or 5 brothers. He settled in Illinois and married Alice Sherry in 1862. They had 4 children from 1863 – 1872.
If these dates align with your families I will appreciate hearing from you.
