My information is as follows;
John Stancil II b.ca.1700 in Virginia d- ca 22 Aug 1750, Tyrrell Co., N.C. (son of John Stancil and Katherine Hardy.) Occupation farmer married Sara Smithwick dtr. of Edward & Sara Godfrey Smithwick.

5- Mary Stancil m. Mr. Bentley
John G. Stancil Jr. d. 29 May 1795 Johnston Co. N.C. m. Sarah Moved from Tyrrell Co., N.C. & was the first Stancil to settle in Johnston County.ca. 1755. His middle name may have been Godfrey, his mother's maiden name.

Nancy Polly Stancil b- 23 March 1796 Johnston Co., N.C.
m. Joseph Broughton who died Feb. 1818 Johnston Co.
Godfrey Stancil was appointed guardian of her children after Joseph died. Joseph was reported to be the great grandfather of North Carolina's Govenor J. Melville Broughton.
